SKULLHOG: Less Gore, More Brutality
October 2, 2006Dutch grindcore/sludge metal band SKULLHOG (formerly BILE) has just entered the studio to record several brand new tracks for two upcoming split releases. The first is a split 7" with Sweden's REGURGITATE and the second release will be a split 10" with Australia's BLOOD DUSTER. According to the band, the REGURGITATE split 7" — which will be issued through Regurgitated Semen Records — will contain three songs by SKULLHOG, featuring "less gore, [and] more diverse, heavier and even more brutal [material] than our previous efforts."
Formed in 1998 to pay homage to HELLHAMMER, SLAUGHTER and DEAD INFECTION, among others, the group's focus, lyrically and visually, is on slasher films, with their debut EP, "The Shed" (2000),based on "The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2", and their full-length album, "Camp Blood" (2005),inspired by the "Friday the 13th" film series.
